Have you ever had a day...where everything just goes wrong? Well today was my day. Life started of well in the morning. I was actually not feeling sleepy at all. Went to college... life started to move slowly (as always). But, god, I had NEVER asked for that much fun. My heart almost jumped into my hands when it happened. The reason behind, as I assume it to be, is that it happened for the first time to me! Well...even before that something happened which, I personally do not find the need to discuss...but to be short....IT WAS HORRIBLE!!
Moving on to the main event. How should I describe it? Well to start off... it was painfully dreadful. So here it goes. On two days...me and my classmates/friends/buddies etc. are free between the not-so-cool hours of 1 pm - 4 pm, which in turn, gives us 3 hours of nothingness. Obviously, since we are in an age of hyper activeness, we need a good past time, in which we do not have to stay in college and so we sometimes go out. Today was the sometimes when we have to go out. And our ONLY hope is always 'Sam the Great' (shes a girl btw and this is her nickname!), just because that lady has a car and is quiet a good driver. Since I have just got a license and am not that good at driving, so I practice in Sam's car (have done only once before and today was the second time).
Its only 5-8 minutes walk to 'Marry Brown', but since its so freaking hot in Dubai, you cannot possibly think of walking that short distance and so I insisted on taking the car (because i wanted to drive :)). So I parked the car safely in front of MB and we all were having a meal (4 girls) when three of our friends passed by MB, since they were headed for Caesar's (15 minutes walk from college). One of the guys, Taher, calls up and asks if Sam could drop them back to college just because they didn't wish to walk back in that hot, sweaty weather. We agreed.
So me and Sam left MB's to pick them up. And thus began the ride to our untimely, unneeded fate.
Sam took a u-turn and headed back for the college on the same road. Cars were parked on both sides of the road (it is a two way road without a divider). So from our side, a woman in Mazda 3 wished to go on the opposite lane. Her car was parked in a way that her cars front faced the road (she had reversed parked it!). We were about a 100m away when she moved her car out a little bit, so naturally, Sam slowed down to let her go but she stopped and so Sam accelerated. Again the lady moved out a little bit again (there was some space available between the main road and the parking). Naturally (again!) Sam decelerated the Mazda 6 but the stupid lady stopped again. And then Sam accelerated again. With only 10m gap left between the two cars, this time around, the lady got a move on and BANG! the two cars bumpers collided. I was sitting on the passengers front seat and the bloody car was so close to me. I had my coke in my hand and the only thing I could do at that time was *slurp*. I slurped the whole coke within 40 seconds.
WOW! Now that was something good eh. Well on Sam's request we left for college after 10 minutes of waiting. Whilst on my way to college, I saw the police car arrive and was happy to know that they arrived early.
For the first time EVER, thanks to this accident, I was actually awake in my Aircraft System Principles class. Hell yeah it was fun. It rocked...though I was scared!
