In one of my recent posts: Annoyingly Annoying... i wrote about the things or people that annoy me and it included Americans. So people questioned me: why do you hate Americans? do you hate all Americans? So i thought i would tell the story.

I never hated America/Americans until 9th july,2001. I visited Canada for the first time that month. My time in Canada was passing very well. Then came 9th July. My birthday. Since we had an american visit visa, we thought we would go to America with our family friends. So with everything packed up, we headed towards Niagara Falls (goin by road). At the borders, the American police officers checked our things, our belongings and then our passports. Then they asked us for some papers and we eventually gave it to them. They made us wait at the borders for 3 hours and finally gave us an answer. "NO" was what we heard from them. We had an American visa, property in Canada and we were not illegal either. And yet for no reason they didn't let us into the American land. I would have accepted if they had given a reason, bur there were none and since then, my hatred for Americans came into existence. And I donot wish to keep any connections to that country. So I refused to study/ live there!

That my friends is the story! And yes you might say that not all Americans are bad but people, not all Muslims are bad too. Yet I have seen that a lot of people (especially Americans and Britishers) think the way I am thinking right now!

Hello my friend, I wish to share a very similar experience. I am Canadian, and was denied entry into the USA in 2003 at the Ogdensburg Bridge border crossing with no reason given. I was 23 years old at that time, and driving my mother's car. I had hoped to visit New York. But a very rude white haired customs guard said I was not allowed to enter. Canadians do not need visas and entry is entirely a matter for border guards. Since then, I refuse to visit, buy American products, or even speak with Americans.

If I'm not good enough to visit their country as a tourist, then they are not good enough to play any part in my life.

I will not buy an iPod, will not buy Nike shoes, will not eat in American owned chain restaurants, I will not watch American television or movies. Etc.

And it is not only me. I encourage everyone I meet to follow the same model. A life without America. I wish no ill will to the USA, but I will keep my mind and wallet closed to them.
